Happy Birthday Madden!

It's hard to believe that just a year ago, we were blessed with our 2nd baby boy. He was born at 9:00 pm and weighed in at 7 lbs 4 oz. He doesn't weigh a whole lot more than that now, at least not comparatively. He keeps us busy though. He's too busy exploring the world that he has no time for toys. He pretty much likes to climb on anything available and walk around the house screaming. He doesn't have many words yet but he can get his point across when he needs to. It's hard to believe that in a few months, he is going to be the big brother. I hope he doesn't feel the need to grow up too quickly.

To our sweet baby boy, we hope you have a great birthday. Your dad and brother and I love you very much and we are so thankful that we were chosen to be your family!

Here's a quick peek at Madden's 1st year.

Madden's Sock Monkey Birthday

Madden's birthday party sort of just snuck right up on me. Pretty much with 2 little ones and being pregnant, I apparently have lost all track of time. I only got a few hand delivered invitations out and the rest went out via e-mail (probably not proper invitation etiquette to some). We went with a sock monkey theme and started scouting out as many as we could.

Luckily, we were able to get quite a few from my boss, including one ginormous one that was about 4 ft. tall. I had to get creative with other decorations because apparently they don't make sock monkey themed party supplies (at least not ones that take less than 5 days to get to you).

Madden was not too interested in opening gifts. I at least got one picture before he ran away, at least there were no tears.

Trying out his gift from his mommy, daddy, and big brother. Pretty sure this is going to cause an injury when he figures out how to work out.

We got him all undressed and ready for his big cake debut.

He was more interested in trying to figure out why everyone was singing to him and didn't even notice the burning candle in his face.

He wasn't really sure what to do with the cake so I decided I would help him out a little. There was really only one good hand smoosh and that was the one I helped him make.

The cake devouring didn't last long and he was done.

He was exhausted after his party and laid down on the floor with his dog. I think he had a good time. There were no melt-downs and all the other little kids stayed outside making it a nice, cool, stress-free adult zone inside.

Happy birthday, little Madden! We love you very much and hope you had a great time.
